Assignments of Which I am Most Proud

One of the assignments that I am most proud of is my who am I video.  I am proud of this because it is an important part of my life that I have created a video of.  I can now have this video for the rest of my life.  It was also a fun project because we were able to chose what we wanted to do our topic on.  It was fun to have so many options to choose from.  I wanted something that I could keep forever and would want to show other people.  I am proud of this because I think it conveys the message I was trying to get across to the viewer.  I also think it is something my family is going to want to view and keep for many years to come.  This helped to expand my learning because learned how to have a message come across in my video.  It also helped me to learn more about iMovie and how to use the different tools.   Because I chose a subject that I was passionate about, it was easy to make a video that I found fun to make and one that would be something I was proud of.

Another one of my assignments that I was proud of was the free choice assignment.  I am proud of this because I think it captures the essence of spring without being too cluttered.  It took me a while to get the background right and not too overwhelming.  I like the layout of the flowers and the fact that some of them are blurred and some of them are not.  I am proud of the overall feeling of calmness that I get from looking at this photograph because it reflects the first signs of spring.

Most Memorable Experiance

My most memorable experience was the hobbies/interests assignment.  This was my favorite to create because it was more loose and allowed us to photograph what we chose.  For this assignment, I chose travel and because I took pictures in several different countries, the result was many diverse photographs.  I now have many photographs that I can keep for years to come.  I will always be able to look back on these memories and remember the great times I had.  This was my favorite assignment because  I loved to explore different parts of the world that I had never seen before.  This gave me an opportunity to expand my knowledge of the world around me.  Taking photographs in these many different places helped me to expand my learning.  I learned lots about the different countries, including France and Italy.  We learned about their history and what was happening in present day.  I found these facts fascinating an they made my photographs even more fun to take.  I loved to take photographs that I knew something about because that made them even more meaningful than just taking pictures of any random object.

Freechoice

While taking this picture, I wanted to make sure to get the background in but not make the picture too cluttered.  To do this, I made sure to focus the lilac and blur out the rest of the street.  I also wanted to capture the feeling of spring.  I wanted to capture the scent of lilacs and the warm spring breeze that I was feeling.  I wanted to be able to go back to this at any time and remember what it felt like on a warm spring evening.

Culture Clash

Purpose:

  • To create a Clash of Cultures by creating your own Photo montage, combining images from Beijing, China and Yarmouth, Maine, USA;

  • To further develop your Photoshop knowledge and skills;
  • To create a “surreal” landscape by montaging a variety of photographs;
To know, use, and understand the Four Collage Techniques to in your Photo Montage: Juxtaposition/fragmentation, Point of View, Scale Change, Overlapping

This project helped to teach me about using photoshop and how to use photoshop to paste images together.  Some of the challenges I had was not knowing what tool to use to create a certain look.  I also had trouble being neat and careful around the images as I was using the eraser tool.  I fixed these by starting over when I needed to and experimenting with all the different buttons. Some of the successes were learning about the different tools. I also was able to create an image that looks neatly erased.
